Premium roguelite FPS

WitchFire is a paid action game from The Astronauts, featuring a mix of the Western and dark fantasy worlds in a first-person shooter experience. Its roguelite experience offers short yet satisfying gameplay experiences with multiple victory conditions you can meet depending on your choice. With holy weapons from the Vatican plus spells of your own, get ready to fight monsters and other infernal creatures as you find your way toward the ringleader of it all.

With great graphics and impressive, fast-paced gameplay, WitchFire is a definite must-try for fans of action games—similar to Doom or Wolfenstein: The Old Blood.

An epic witch hunt

Essentially, the premise for WitchFire is akin to Van Helsing, a hunter backed by the Catholic Church to hunt and stop a great evil. In this case, the big bad is the Witch of the Black Sea. She also holds a mysterious artifact that can turn the tide of war in favor of the good. It may sound simple, but this game actually has a lot of content.

In terms of graphics, it also uses the same technology as The Astronauts’ previous release, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. With photogrammetry tech, the game managed to create a grim and immersive fantasy world. Every set design is intricately crafted, with detailed textures available from the buildings to fixtures such as lamps. The same visual quality can be expected for character designs, with the opponents being a visual spectacle.

As such, its slick animation and complex weapon system also lend to the game’s difficulty. The need for varying gameplay styles equates to a higher learning curve, requiring a bit of practice to get the spells and movement options pegged down. Additionally, it introduces a couple of uncommon gameplay mechanics for action FPS, making them not intuitive, especially for new players.

Let the hunt begin

WitchFire game is presently in its early access phase, immersing players in a dark and unforgiving world meticulously crafted within the game. This initial release provides sufficient content to bring a satisfying gaming experience. You can delve into the game's fundamental gameplay mechanics and wield an array of tools of war, including firearms and mystical spells. However, it is important to note that being in early access means the game is actively developing and may undergo substantial changes. This dynamic development process could introduce unexpected issues or new gameplay elements during your gaming experience.

A definite must-have

WitchFire seamlessly blends Western and dark fantasy in a thrilling first-person shooter. The game boasts stunning graphics thanks to photogrammetry tech, creating a visually immersive world filled with intricate details. Its complex weapon system and unique gameplay mechanics add depth but require practice to master. While in early access, this game promises continued development, potentially introducing new elements and addressing issues in this evolving, immersive world.
